Shining Knight - rug cleaning process

1. Inspection: prior to cleaning, our fully trained and insured technicians will carry out a thorough inspection to determine the most suitable products and process for cleaning your rugs.

2. Furniture removal: where ever possible, we will move and replace your furniture for you, but we do ask that any expensive breakable items are removed before we arrive. 
 

3. Power vacuum: to extract dust, grit and other dry soil and prevent a muddy residue forming, when liquid cleaners are applied.

4. Stain treatment: particularly stubborn spots and stains are pre-spotted with specialised biodegradable cleaning agents. Please refer to Stain Removal for further information.

5. Pre-conditioning: a specially formulated solution is sprayed over the rug to break down grease and oily substances in preparation for hot water extraction.

6. Hot water extraction: (sometimes referred to as steam cleaning) powerful jets pump specialised cleaning solution deep into the pile of your rug, while simultaneously extracting the grime, grease and stain laden moisture. Leaving them totally clean and dry within 4 to 6 hours.

7. Fringe treatment: if you wish a mildly acidic solution can be applied to lighten light coloured fringes.

8. Realign Pile: pile must be correctly set whilst damp.
